Facilities
The Manor House has a range of quality facilities that we offer to our clients.
From spacious modern rooms and outdoor areas to the specialist care and equipment we offer, being able to facilitate clients with various conditions, from respite to intermediate care through to long-term.
There are currently 42 bedrooms over 2 floors, with a further extension for specialty and luxury private facilities to commence in 2010. There is easy access to all rooms, including 2 lifts (one of which takes beds/stretchers).
Many of the client's bedrooms are also now equipped with electronic ceiling hoists running directly from the electric profiling beds to the ensuite bathroom/wet room, aiding ease of use and dignity.
There are a number of communal living areas including TV lounges, dining and quiet reading rooms as well as the patio's and gardens.
In the interest of food hygiene the recently extended kitchen, has been designed into four rooms to allow a flow from the preparation, cooking, serving, to washing up.
The modern laundry room provides for both professional and personal use, the staff will give guidance on request, as to individual items that may be of concern.
There is a large car park for visitors with dedicated spaces for visiting professionals. An alternative entrance is provided for ambulances.
Facilities include:
- Ground floor general reception office open 9am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with two staff who manage day to day matters relating to aspects of the home, including: all visitors, clients & staff queries and finance etc.
- Laundry service (no dry cleaning service)
- Meals served in dining room or in own room if medical conditions or preference determines.
- Tea, coffee and other drinks as required.
- Diets to meet medical needs, and clients own preferential or religious followings.
- Individual cultural and religious needs arranged
- Dentist, chiropodist, optician, hairdresser by own or home's arrangement.
- Individual care plan. For use of professionals involved. May be accessed by the client/n.o.k./ or other appropriate person, subject to permission/confidentiality.
- Individual base line observations will be recorded on admission, as a routine procedure.
- 24 hour access and administration service is provided.
- 2 lifts - 1 x full size bed capacity 13 person.
- Car parking for 40 cars and dedicated spaces for visiting professionals.
- Alternative separate ambulance entrance.
- The homes employs (on a retainer basis), a qualified H & S advisor, to train on induction, (includes fire and evacuation procedures) update staff as required, review appropriate policies and carry out environmental risk assessments.
- Activities are open to all persons within the home.
- Office and meeting room for the use of visiting professionals.
- The homes regulatory policies are inspected by the C.Q.C.
(These are available at the nurse's station for reference and guidance to all staff. They include risk management, health and safety, confidentiality and infection control, among others. Ongoing updates are made and staff duly notified of changes and sign to that effect).
