Care - The Hyde Lea Suite
This suite is a dedicated unit for people with a complex needs profile which includes terminal illness, severe stroke, tracheostomy care and orthopaedic trauma.
All specialist interventions will be co-coordinated by a registered nurse, supported by Health Care assistants.
Technical skills and expertise will include pain control, drug administration, enteral feeding, wound care, stoma care, tracheostomy care and management of ventilated clients.
Each clients bedroom is equipped with an en-suite toilet and shower, modernly furnished with writing desk, television and DVD player.
An overhead electronic hoist enables clients with mobility problems to be transferred safely and with dignity. For greater independence and comfort there is an electronically controlled profiling bed. Ground floor bedrooms have direct access onto a patio.
The rooms have a personal call system and a facility for the installation of a telephone.
The Activities Arranger will develop an individual social care plan providing opportunities for social inclusion.
Psychological and spiritual needs, are arranged for those having to adapt to a loss of independence and a new set of circumstances due to their illness.
