Staff

24 hour trained nursing care The staff understand the purpose and the needs of the people entering their care, in that for some times it will only be a short transitional period, to release hospital acute beds, while at the same time giving 24 hour a day nursing, rehabilitation, and medical access to enable people to restore their function and independence on returning to their own homes or chosen environment, as soon as is possible.

The home gives the appropriate and individual person centred model of care, providing the correct staff skill mix, number of staff and agreed equipment and services required by the client during their stay.

The staff work in a close liaison with a combination of other professionals to achieve the required outcome for the client.

The team The clinical team provides nursing care, led by a Matron and Registered General Nurses, supported by Health Care Assistants.

A full time Social/recreational Arranger is engaged to identify the individual clients preferences with appropriate activities.

The hotel services staff, of cleaners and laundry have a team manager who overviews their standards, training, and customer relations.

The kitchen has recently been extended to create four individual areas/rooms for food preparation, cooking, serving and washing up. Adjacent is a tea and drink making area.

The catering team will endeavour to meet the tastes of individuals whether they are due to preference, religious or medical recommendation.

Quality standards The home is concentrating on maintaining and introducing initiatives, processes and systems for the benefit of all clients.

Our aims are to provide a standard of care that enables the individual to have input in their own care and have confidence in the staff providing the care. The staff work with other clinical disciplines, and take a 'person centered' approach, governed by the care standards and clinical audits that are used.

Our own internal staff audits include:

  • Patient involvement
  • Clinical audits
  • Environmental audits
  • Critical incident reporting
  • Risk management
  • Complaints monitoring
  • Evaluation
  • Good employment practice
  • Continuous Professional development
